In daily life, PVC edge banding is prone to photoaging during transportation and use. Photoaging not only affects the aesthetics of PVC materials, but also has a significant impact on their service life. So, how can we effectively prevent photoaging of edge banding? Below, we will evaluate and predict the implementation conditions and prevention principles of edge banding photoaging phenomenon through a simulated experimental system that artificially accelerates UV aging.

Firstly, whether under natural light exposure or artificial ultraviolet accelerated conditions, the surface temperature of white PVC edge banding is 40 ℃ at a standard temperature of 30 ℃. However, in our daily life, the natural exposure environment of PVC edge banding is mostly below 30 ℃, and its surface material color changes less. Therefore, temperature has a relatively small impact on the aging of PVC edge banding. On the other hand, when PVC edge banding is at a standard temperature of 30 ℃, the surface temperature can reach as high as 70 ℃, and its surface changes are not significant. Therefore, high temperature has a relatively small impact on the photoaging of PVC edge banding, at least unrecognizable to the human eye.

From this, it can be seen that when PVC edge banding is at a lower temperature (between 20 ℃ and 40 ℃), temperature changes have little effect on the photoaging of PVC edge banding. However, when it is at a higher temperature (60 ℃ to 80 ℃), temperature still has a certain influence on the photoaging of PVC edge banding, especially for white and light colored PVC materials.

In addition, during the transportation or storage of PVC edge banding, the temperature of the container may reach around 75 ℃, which can also cause changes in the color of the PVC material, especially if the cycle lasts for more than a month or even two months. This requires the sealing label manufacturer to strengthen temperature control, so it is important to remember that the edge banding should not be exposed to sunlight.
